Boutique hotel room designed by Steven Teeuwsen and Kendel Vreeling

Boutique hotel room

This hotel room design is the result of a collaboration with  Kendel Vreeling. It is one of 4 theme rooms at MacEwan University inspired by the university’s courses.

We proposed to design this room as an artist’s loft where the living space doubles as work space. We wanted everything to look salvaged or repurposed while staying refined. The TV is set on an easel and the desk is a drafting table. Work lights illuminate the art and the custom designed ceiling lights are inspired by old wrought iron.

We stripped the room down to the concrete floor, painted murals on the walls, and bought or made all new furniture. The custom built bed and closet were designed by us and constructed by George Heagle. In addition to the 3 murals, we painted 4 original canvases for the space.
